HERE’S A QUESTION
It’s time for something entirely different---
For starters, every morning all of the US should wake up with only one question on their minds --- “What has Dick Cheney done for me lately?”
It should be the question on the minds of everyone in all the Americas. It should be blasted from morning radio stations, in the manner of Adrian Cronauer’s signature "Good Morning Vietnam"
“What has Dick Cheney done for me lately?” should blare from every car radio on the morning commute
'Cause once you ask the question you immediately know the answer --- nothing, nada, squat, not a damn thing. Which should almost automatically lead to the next question: “What has DIck Cheney done for Dick Cheney lately?”
And we all know the answer to that one: he has made his fat ass rich on this war he promoted and started and keeps running. And he has done it at my expense, for the cash that went to Halliburton, that pushed up tricky Dick’s stock options 32 fold came from taxes that could have been used here, for more schools, better health care, hey even more cops, more jails, or even a free lunch...But no, those taxes went to Dick's old friends at his old company. Profits soared, stock values rose, (which is a good thing for Halliburton ‘cause they’ll need the cash to pack up and move to sunny Dubai).
So once again the question or a variation: has Dick Cheney honored and defended the constitution? Has the VP promoted “the general welfare", or secured "the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity?" Or has he just ignored his constitutional responsibilities?
We know the answer…don’t we? But what’s new.
We know he has pissed all over that document many times. Which just goes to show you, a little tin flag pined on your lapel only means that you've a little tin flag stuck on your expensive suit jacket. Self-interest and patriotism don’t go hand in hand.
So again all together what has Dick Cheney done for me lately?
Now that we all know the answer to the question of the day what shall we do? Some say impeach the prick (sic) I mean Dick and kick him to the street. But that ain't gonna happen because the gang in Congress don't have the heart for the task and even if they did the chance that the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court would help in seeing justice done, at least in this case, is almost nhil.
War mongering is where it is at these days, and since everyone who is anyone is doing it, can it really be a high crime or even a misdemeanor?
So Tricky Dick II will continue to rack up the cash on this war, which is turning a nice profit for him and his friends. Which leads to the final question: if you were making good money off of the war would you really be inclined to stop it?
